SPIRES and BRIDGES December 26, 2011

The first thing that I noticed in Prague wass the architecture. I
would love to spend a few months there to study it.

Prague Castle: The largest medieval castle complex in Europe situated up
on a hill has a dominant presence in the skyline.

The Charles Bridge, a stone gothic structure that connects old Town Prague
with Mala´ Strana (Lesser quarter). Construction began in 1357
commisioned by Charles IV.
It is said that egg yolks were mixed in with the mortar for strength.

The bridge tower on the Old Town side of the bridge, considered one of
the most astonishing Gothic style buildings in the world.

This is the photo I so wanted to take but sadly we never saw a sunrise or sunset,
not complaining about cloudy in the low 40's in December.
The architecture really popped in those conditions.
