Todays walk was filled with wildlife. We saw wild
mink, goslings (they're getting so big!), a variety
birds, my adopted swan family and this painted turtle
sunning himself on a log.

Pink Lady's Slipper is a very attractive and popular plant because of the strange and beautiful pink flower. It is also rare and needs to be left alone in the few places it is surviving. The plant is actually an orchid with the alternate name of moccasin flower. I discovered this beauty today!

Lillies of the valley


These flowers were a gift from my mothers garden, seeing them in bloom made me ponder the less tangible gifts she shared with me. She was an amazing woman whose light continues to shine. Thanks Mom.
