I actually studied Ornithology in college and have been thinking of rediscovering the joy of bird watching. Photographing them is an interesting challenge. You need to be still and patient...two qualities that I don't possess.
Still trying for a "great" cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) photo.
Canadian Geese (Branta canadensis) are almost as common as pigeons around here.
They're still pretty awesome despite how much they poop!
Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos) are also in abundance...they are funny!
Don't you just love his rear feathers?

1.1.11 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

combine Peppermint Schnapps with unseasonably warm temps.
Is that an expression of regret?
The temperature was close to 60 degrees which made the ice sculptures look
pretty cool. Can you see his spine?
On the steps of the Trinity Church...
