So not doing so good on the resolution!
My week in Prague has me spending more time in Boston and I'm loving
rediscovering old treasures.
Gargoyle on the Trinity Church in Copley Square / John Hancock Building in the background.
Picnic in Copley SQ~did I mention the amazing non-winter we are experiencing?

NYC
Old habits die hard...or I'm still going to shoot stuff that speaks to me.

Time to talk about New years Resolutions, I needed time to let this
photographic resolution ferment in my brain because it means I need to step out of my comfort zone...taking pretty pictures of pretty things.
Two things happened:
My husband told me his favorite photos of mine from Prague were the one's with people
in them.
I visited a Photo exhibit of Vivian Maier's work while in NYC. I loved the
stories her photos told.
So this year I am going to photograph people and perhaps tell some stories of my own.
Took this with my phone and missed the shot I first saw...people move!

I can't resist birds, even pigeons.
I've got a thing for boys with guitars as well.

Our last morning in Prague was sunny and cold, ready to be heading home
with just a touch of sadness.

December 30~CUBISM and Other architectural delights
Just opposite the Café Imperial is Legiobanka (24 Na Porici Street).
Built in 1924 by highly original architect Josef Gocar, it is an odd mix of cylindrical shapes and folk art sculpture, the epitome of the new Rondo-Cubism. Today the building still houses a bank and, inside, the original 1920s decor looks like it could be a silent film set.

Museum of Cubism and the delightful Grand Cafe Orient

The Dancing House
This building is an example of deconstructivist architecture, with an unusual shape. It reflects a woman and man (Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair) dancing together.
This building, a Brutalist mass covered in glass that has been likened to a melting ice cube, was originally used as an offshoot of the august, neo-Renaissance National Theater. Completed in 1983, it is perceived by some to be one of Prague’s dreariest and most dissonant examples of Communist-era architecture.
