FEBRUARY IN NYC

The advantages of a winter get away in the city outweigh the disadvantages, for example the money you save on accommodations can be used for theater tickets.
In two and a half days we saw two plays, one concert, two Beatles exhibits, a glimpse of Fashion Week, shopped, ate some amazing food and walked for miles.
It was cold. The snow was romantic, much less so when it turned to sleet and then rain. My love affair with the city is intact.

Challenge # 3~lock yourself in the bathroom and take 100 photos!

I love my bathroom and I did take over 100 photos, half in the evening and half with natural light, this was an interesting challenge. Here are a few that I liked.

Challenge 2~ Hidden Treasure

Challenge 2 sent me to my cellar to make art out of trash. I love puttering around in thrift stores and am always seeing potential photos.
My cellar surprised me.


My husband is a bike enthusiast and we have many bikes in various stages of repair.

I'm not sure if I got these just the way I wanted but I'm loving the color.

Shooting Challenge #1

I'm amusing myself with an on line photography course.
Challenge #1  Walk Around Your Subject and create 10 different images.
Digital cameras beg you to this and something I've noticed is that I generally
like the first shot I take best.

I chose the Friendship, a reconstruction of a 171-foot three-masted Salem East Indiaman built in 1797

First shot taken and this says it all for me. I would have loved to get on board and explore the ship more closely but it wasn't open.
